Preservation Partners Management Group provides quality management services by adhering to three important principles: safe, decent, and sanitary housing, excellent resident/management relations, and the implementation of tenant activities and/or social programs that will enhance the living environment of the community.
Preservation Partners Development (PPD) acquires, rehabilitates and permanently preserves "at-risk" affordable housing resources which were originally developed under U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) financing and direct rental subsidy programs. Our objective is to provide long term, secure housing communities, and in partnership with affiliated nonprofit corporations, provide supportive social services focused on the most basic needs of very low income families and seniors.
President
William Szymczak, President is a founding Managing Partner of Preservation Partners Development. Prior to starting PPD, Bill was Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriter for TRI Capital Corporation. He was previously affiliated with First Interstate Mortgage Company as Vice President and Chief Underwriter. Prior to that, he worked with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for 15 years in varying capacities nationwide including Regional Director of Housing Development and Management in Chicago, Detroit, Cincinnati, Indianapolis and San Francisco. Bill received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts Degrees from Loyola University of Chicago. Bill is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (Pacific Southwest Region), and Institute for Responsible Housing Preservation
CEO
Chuck Treatch, Developer Partner, joined Preservation Partners in October, 2012. Chuck has more than 20 years of experience in housing development and operations and has held key positions in acquisition, development, and financial operations. Chuck has been involved in the development and finance of approximately 2,000 single family lot communities; 1,200 market rate for sale and rental multifamily units; and, 2,000 affordable rental multifamily housing units. He also has experience with the development of commercial properties totaling more than 300,000 s.f. As a Development Officer/Partner, Chuck is a key member of the development team and is responsible for the acquisition, financing, and development of affordable properties. Chuck received a B.S. in Business Administration with an Option in Accounting at California State University of Fresno.
Controller
Deanna oversees the accounting department and financial operations for Preservation Partners and its Affiliates. She has more than fifteen years’ experience with the affordable housing community including LIHTC acquisition, rehabilitation and new construction, HUD and Section 8 properties, USDA Rural Development Section 515 and 538 properties, as well as conventional lending.Her experience includes all functions of accounting, financial analysis of portfolios, budgeting, audits, construction accounting and development, owner and investor relations. Her involvement with each property and portfolio begins with the acquisition and remains involved throughout the life of each property and portfolio. Deanna received her Bachelors of Science in Business with a dual major in Accounting and Finance from Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
Vice President of Construction
As the Vice President of construction for Preservation Partners Nick Tufano oversees, along with staff, all construction related activities for Preservation Partners growing national portfolio. Nick’s unique background in real estate, construction, and property management allows him to manage and reduce construction risk during underwriting and through construction completion, and bring valuable construction and design professional partnerships to the team. After graduating from DePaul University in Chicago, Nick worked for one of the Nation’s largest developers in the country. After moving to Los Angeles in 2010 he began perfecting his leadership abilities in the construction of affordable housing. Nick oversaw construction administration for an NFP sub-recipient of over $130 million dollars in Neighborhood Stabilization Program funds, represented business activities of one of the largest affordable housing General Contractors on the West Coast, and currently oversees over $100 million dollars in annual construction projects for Preservation Partners.
Vice President of Property Management
Sheyla worked as a high-performing Affordable Housing Director with expertise in optimizing operational processes, overseeing conditions of all properties, managing new acquisitions and rehabs, developing training for staff at all levels of the organization. Sheyla has over 16 years’ experience in affordable housing with expertise ranging from property supervisor, performance based contract compliance specialist, and Director of Compliance for Affordable Housing Division. She uses extensive knowledge of Federal, State, and Local Housing programs, including Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), Section 8 Housing, HOME, Land Use, Bond, Major Project, and Rural Housing.
Human Resources Manager
Monica has worked in the Human Resources field for over 10 years. Her expertise is in Recruiting, Benefits, Employee Relations, Unemployment and Workers Compensation. Prior to Preservation Partners, Monica has worked in the Government sector where she provided Human Resources support for the Los Angeles County Probation Department’s temporary staff. Following her tenure there she was the Recruiting and Benefits Manager for a large multi-state retail company with over 1600 employees. Monica is certified in Human Resources Management and is a SHRM Member.
She has a passion for creating a healthy and nurturing work environment where employees feel valued and can maximize their growth potential.
